Latin American Civilization And Culture
The course seeks to provide a general framework of the main historical, socio-cultural, economic, and political aspects, through the analysis of Latin American cultural products, so that students can explore, appreciate and understand the cultural diversity that makes up this region.

Spanish Phonetics and Phonology
This course will help students improve aspects of their pronunciation and intonation so that there is no interference or misunderstanding during their interactions. Besides, you will be able to learn about the linguistic varieties of Spanish and understand the diversity of the Spanish language.

Conversation And Culture
It focuses on the study of common and idiomatic expressions of Costa Rican culture to allow an understanding of the different contexts where language is produced: social, economic, cultural and political. Besides, students will be able to learn about Costa Rica's geography, history, education, health and issues.

Latin American Film
The course is designed so that the student has, through the viewing and analysis of different Latin American films, a general overview of social, political and economic issues in the region. It will be a matter of pointing out the crossovers, discussions and overlaps that appear in each film, the context of production and the territory of which it speaks or of which it arises, to arrive at a creative approach to socio-cultural and historical manifestations in Latin America.

Latin American Literature
This course aims to give the student an approach to the literary proposals of Latin American authors, to give him/her a panoramic vision of the aesthetic diversity developed in the region. The analysis will include discussion of the texts, and the relation with the economic, social and political contexts. The study of texts from the Modernist movement to Contemporary Literature will be carried out.

Advanced Oral And Written Expression
This course is designed for the student to develop communication skills through the study of oral and written communication. The aim is for the student to acquire strategies and techniques to speak and write concisely and effectively so that he or she can manage in different communicative situations.

Advanced Grammar
This course will help students deepen and perfect their knowledge of Spanish grammar so that they become familiar with complex structures that will allow them to communicate more effectively.

Business Spanish
This course focuses on the communication skills needed to understand and interact in different work settings and to be able to function effectively in them; in addition to knowing the socio-cultural particularities in the text of work in a company or business development in Latin America.

Spanish for Health Care Workers
In this course, the main objective is to develop the communication skills necessary to understand and interact in different scenarios that happen in the relationship between doctor and patient. There is special attention to the lexicon. Also, the student will learn about the characteristics of the Costa Rican health system.

Spanish for Teachers
Students and teachers who take this course will have the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary for their interaction with Spanish-speaking students and different contexts in which they must operate. Similarly, students will learn about the characteristics of the Costa Rican education system.

Spanish for Journalism
This class focuses on the communicative needs of students in the Communication career who wish to perfect their use of Spanish in oral and written texts for newspaper publications and other communication platforms. As a transversal axis, there will be analyzed socio-cultural aspects in the news presentation.

Spanish for Sustainable Tourism
This course is for professionals in the area of tourism who wish to develop the communication skills required in tourism contexts, customer service, management, reservations, and tour guides. Also, the student will be able to learn about the development of sustainable tourism in Costa Rica and the various options offered in the country.

Spanish for Digital Marketing
With this course, the student will be able to manage in Spanish in different digital platforms, create an advertising campaign in social networks, and master the records of the written language. Besides, emphasis will be placed on the socio-cultural aspects of Spanish to create more efficient marketing messages.
